tidbits

As parents, we loved bonding with our little ones in the kitchen—it’s a place where learning is exciting and even disasters can be fun! But we struggled to find cooking utensils our children could use safely, comfortably, and successfully.

That’s when the light bulb flashed on!

As professionals in the house wares industry, we knew we could design quality kitchen utensils and gadgets that children could use and enjoy. After years of development and real-world testing, the Curious Chef® collection of kid-friendly kitchen tools was born.

Tools, not Toys

Every piece in our collection is sized for small hands. What’s more, we made them bright, fun, and easy to grip. Even our cutlery is plastic and nylon, with blunt tips for safety. Our collection is extensive, with nearly everything a sous-chef might need.

Join the Journey of Discovery

It soon became clear that when children have their own set of kitchen tools and gadgets, they can get pretty excited about cooking. In no time at all, budding chefs will be gathering at kitchen counters, concocting their very own edible creations, and bonding with adults in the comfort of home.

Welcome! We hope you and your kids enjoy your own journey of cooking, discovery, and fun.

Blossom is 16" High and only $18.00

What is it about Build A Bear that drives little kids crazy? I can ask my girls to practically do anything if I promise them a trip to Build A Bear!

Seriously…they go crazy. Carefully choosing their very special animal, the clothing, the shoes…everything to make “the” perfect best friend! Most of the time Build A Bear is all about the little kids but I have to admit…ahem, I have my own, ahem collection too! Albeit, yes, mine is quite smaller then the twins’ collection but I am very proud of my three Build A Bear friends!

Now…you may wonder why would a grown up love Build A Bear? Well, here are my reasons:

  1. Animals start at only $10!
  2. It is a fun experience to share with my children
  3. When asked by the twins to play … I don’t get stuck with the yucky stuffed animals…because I have my own :P
  4. They make great cuddling partners when I get to sleep alone in my own bed.
  5. I am still a child at heart and enjoy the whimsy of it all
  6. The Build A Bear clothes are so rockin’ cute…how can you not want  your own animal to dress?
  7. The twins feel extra special if they get hurt and can cuddle with one of mom’s BABW friends
  8. Everyone loves a stuffed animal!
  9. You can personalize your own animal with clothing, sounds, personalization and more!
  10. They last a lot longer then flowers!15514L

How’s that for a list?

Not bad, huh?

I was super excited to create this review because I received the adorable *New* Blossom Bunny (seen above). She is just beautiful. Her fur is ultra soft and she is so very colorful. Dressed in her hot pink Easter dress she is the perfect little lady.

I will admit that when I first saw her and learned that I would be reviewing her…I thought I’d give her to the twins. But then I learned that the twins were to receive their very own Twin Kitchen Mascots courtesy of Build A Bear. So, I was able to keep Blossom all for myself!

Most of the time when I talk about Build-A-Bear it is in reference to how much my children enjoy the experience and love their animals. In fact…you can see their latest Twin Kitchen Video dedicated to Build-A-Bear 14784_11564Lright “here”. Since they were able to create their own review…I wanted to share how much adults love them too!

Mother’s Day is May 9th and a Build A Bear animal with a personalized greeting would make a phenomenally special gift. We purchased bears with personalized greetings for the twins’ grandmas two years ago and they still talk about them!! In fact my mom says that whenever she gets lonely she pushes the button and hears “We love you Grandma” and it makes her smile. Flowers and chocolates can’t do that!

Speaking of flowers and chocolates…Spring is in the air and that means EASTER! Check out the great deal below from Build-A-Bear. Don’t you think a soft, plush, squeezable friend may be a better alternative to a basket full of cavities, um I mean chocolate and candy. Ok, ok…throw in a few peeps, chocolate eggs and bunny…but don’t forget Build A  Bear!

Birthday, Holidays, New Babies…even weddings…every occasion can be extra spectacular with Build A Bear.  Yes, it is the perfect place for your children…but isn’t it a great place for the kid in you too? “I” can’t wait to go again! I sooo want the Cross Bear…..

whatdidIthink

I have been wanting to teach the twins ASL Sign Language for a very long time. Thanks to Signing Time…that has become a reality.   My girls have learned their entire ABC’s using the ASL Sign Language plus the signs for words like milk, cup, plate, bowl, knife, fork, spoon, shoes, horse, chicken, friends, please, thank you, I, You, hear, lift, drink, taste and so many more!

We were sent the “Time to Eat” DVD which incorporates teaching, colorful illustrations, cute kids, singing and signing to create a fun, educational DVD for children to easily learn and grasph the American Sign Language.

I only wish that my girls would enjoy and comprehend all their studies as they have done with the sign language and the Signing Times DVDs.

Check out their Signing Times review video and great Apple Cake (as in ABC’s) in honor of Signing Time at Twin Kitchen.

If you are looking for way to introduce your child to a second language they will enjoy and which will be useful to them in the future…ASL is a perfect solution and Signing Times is a perfect introduction and study.  Swing on over to Signing Time and sign up for the Sign of the Week and take a look at the wonderful selection of DVD’s they have to create the perfect leraning environment and experience for your little one!

What is so special about imagination play? Pretty much everything! It allows your child to explore, reproduce and create their worlds. They are able to imitate what they see. They learn by site and touch the world around them. Imagination play is a major milestone in the lives of Toddlers. Play Food sets are a great way to get your child(ren) involved in cooking and eating.gallery8

The IE Twins love their Gummy Lump play food sets and were thrilled to rip open the boxes and start “cooking”. They love to cook on Twin Kitchen and they love to cook in their pretend kitchen as well.

We received the Kitchen Pots and Pans Set by Melissa & Doug and the Slice and Bake Cookies Play Food Set by Melissa and Doug and they were a hit!

In fact they were beyond a hit! I don’t think the twins have stopped playing with their toys from Gummy Lump. They have created meals for us, for their Barbies, for their stuffed animals and for Twin Kitchen. Check out the delicious Gummy Lump Strawberry Shortcake.

Imagination is a wonderful part of childhood. Learning about your life, surroundings and who you are is all a part of growing up. With Gummy Lump play food sets…you are guaranteed phenomenal quality and a wonderful experience for your child.   The Melissa & Doug play sets carried by Gummy Lump are not toys that will be easily thrown away or discarded…these are quality toys that will be passed down to the next generation. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw my grand kids loving these sets as my as my girls do.

Right now, Gummy Lump is offering a fantastic Buy 3 Get the 4th Free on Melissa & Doug Play Food Sets…hurry up and pick up a couple….they’d look great in Easter Baskets!
