Yes, I know it’s Fashion week…but I just had to share because I am so proud. We recently entered our car into a Trunk or Treat event where the grand prize was an iPod Touch. The twins have been begging to get one for some time. We’ve always said “no”
When we learned of this contest…we told them if they helped and worked on our car…they could keep the iPod if they won. We WON!!!! They worked hard with Daddy..painting, gluing, cutting…and messing up their clothing, lol. I thought I’d share the car, their joy and their very fashionable costumes!

Our game was pin the tail on the piggy. Here is the lil' piggy I drew.

My girls are officially 7 now. I can not believe how fast the time has gone. I know “all moms” say that, right?
Well, it’s because it DOES go by so fast. It’s an exciting chapter to enter a new year yet I feel sad that my “babies” are not really babies anymore.
They had a fantastic birthday…which started out by getting their hair down by our hairstylist, then off to “breakfast” at Krispy Kreme donuts and on to Build A Bear…where they went crazy! The evening ended with a wonderful dinner out with Daddy and Mommy.
Life is exciting when you are seven!
The Challenge: “Fun” What can be more fun then getting into mischief with your twin and your cousin….let’s just call them “Crazy ball heads!”

I am sure that you have all head the expression… “Living a Dog’s Life”. Generally, it means the “good life”, the “easy road”, all play and no work.
After all many dogs have a happy home, food and a loving family.
But I definitely would not have wanted to live this little dogs life.
Hollee came into our lives last Christmas. My sister who lives 5 hours away was on her way down to visit for the Christmas holiday. She happened to visit a local animal shelter to see if they had any huskies for my great-niece, Sydney.
When they arrived the shelter was closed but there was a box in the middle of the parking lot. Partly concerned and partly nosey my niece and my sister looked into the box to see a small, tiny bundle of brown fur! Someone had thrown her away and left her there. She would have frozen has she not been found. Who ever left her didn’t even have the decency to place a towel or blanket in the box.
My sister arrived at our home with this ugly little doggie. She was skinny, scared and had mange. I quickly called my veterinarian to see we could take her in…just to make sure she was fine. Dr. Dunn was great. Gave Hollee some meds and declared her healthy and only 4 weeks old!!
After the Christmas Holiday she went back to live with my sister. I was a bit sad because I thought Hollee would be perfect for my girls. I was secretly hoping that they’d ask if we wanted her. You could tell she was a sweet natured dog and smart! But, well, finders – keepers and all that so off she went with my great niece.
After many months of hearing the girls ask “When can we get a puppy”. I started praying about it. One day i just laid it out in a request to God. I was holding nothing back. The verse that says “…you receive not, because you ask not…” was playing in my head at the time along with Jeremiah 29:11! I figured I’d lay out everything that I’d like our new addition to be…he is God after all. Who knows what He had in store for my girls. “Lord, please send a sweet dog who would love the girls. I need her to be house broken and smart. I also would like my husband to fall in love with her. She needs to be little and smart. A girl dog would be great and Lord, she needs to be Free.” Hey, I told you I was laying it all out there. I mean, He is God, after all. I figured I’d ask, He’d do His will and whatever happens would be okay. I didn’t give it a second thought.
Some time passed and my sister and niece came down in May for a family celebration. This time they brought Hollee. Why? Well, it seems my great-niece really wanted the Husky and wasn’t quite satisfied with a tiny chihuahua mix. My other sister said she’d take her. They arrived at our family party with Hollee in tow. She had grown so much (ok, maybe 6lbs). She was still not the cutest but such a lover. My girls fell in love instantly (again). I wondered if this was an answer to my prayers?? Did my sister really bring her down for my other sister or were they setting me up to fall in love with her. Yes, that’s something my big sisters would do to their baby sister, me!
My girls were sad to see Hollee leave at the end of the party. My sisters were going out and wanted to know if we’d baby sit Hollee for the weekend. The girls screamed yes, I tentatively agreed and looked at my husband…
