In 2007, Calypso Studios started their beautiful bracelets and then introduced comfort clay crosses, butterflies and ladybugs, totes, necklaces and headbands.  Their jewelry is fun and very affordable and unlike any other jewelry you have ever seen. Two years ago I won a beautiful Wrap bracelet and it is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I then had the pleasure of winning a comfort cross in an auction for my husband and finally I received a beautiful Cross Wrap Bracelet to review.

While traditionally  I am not a super big fan of gold jewelry there was something about this piece of jewelry that caught my eye. I am not sure if it is the simple design that brought or the green and brown threaded design that reminds me of being young.

This beautiful piece of jewelry is wonderful for me, because of my job I can’t wear my cross necklace because of the danger of it being torn off of me. The crocheted inspirational bracelet has a simple closure that if tugged on it will simply come off without any danger to me. So, because of Calypso Studios I can wear my cross close to my heart still. If you are on a budget Calypso Studios is great for you, because you can get beautiful simple pieces that will definitely have that special meaning.

EUREKA!!!

I learned in elementary school that is what was yelled with miners found gold….well, let me tell you I found an amazing treasure definitely worthy screaming “EUREKA” about.

Exclusively Fabulous is a fantastic secret that I stumbled upon and am so exacted that I did.They can create custom crystal earrings, bangles, shoes and baby shoes!!

Seriously…they can bling it all out and provide you with that extra touch of amazing that you need! I received the beautiful 13 line crystal bangle appropriately named Queen of the Night. Gorgeous! My mouth literally dropped when I opened the package and pulled out the bracelet. It was breathtaking and the sweet organza bag provided an extra touch of elegance.

I’ve been looking at crystal bracelets for a while but haven’t had the heart to plop down the $75 -$100 that the department stores and boutiques were asking.  Now, here I am holding a gorgeous bracelet that would challenge anything I’ve found so far and it’s affordable. Only $40.00! Wow!

When I saw the Calypso Studios Love Cross online I LOVED the way it looked as well as what it represented. The cross intersecting with the heart is such a beautiful symbol of showing God’s love and reminder of his sacrifice.  I like anything that is a conversation starter and an opportunity to share God’s love.  On the tag that comes with the necklace it says “Feel God’s love closer to your heart.”  This is such an appropriate description as the necklace does indeed lay right over my heart AND carries the symbols of both a heart and a cross.

The first time I looked closely at the necklace, I must admit I wasn’t as impressed as I’d been with the picture online.  The unfinished looking silver gives it a little bit of a feeling of cheapness and the rope style gives it more of a natural feel that made it seem more appropriate for a teenager OR someone who’s very into a organic lifestyle. However, when I read that it was handcrafted metal that explained the unfinished look it has.  When you know something is handcrafted, it is expected to have a different look than something that is mass produced.  This wiped away my initial impression of cheapness and gave it more of a special quality.

The first time I wore it, I bent down to pick something up and it came right off.  There is no clasp but instead a loop that a round button like metal piece slips into.  It makes it easy to put on yourself without someone else’s help BUT unfortunately, also means it comes off easily. I tied mine at the end to counteract this possibility but the knot at the back of my neck makes it uncomfortable.

I wore the necklace to a Christmas party and had several compliments as well as people asking me where I got it.  That’s definitely a sign that it’s something people would love for Christmas!  It’s the perfect size to be a great stocking stuffer.  All women love jewelry but not all women (like me) are really flashy or into wearing a lot of jewelry.  The Calypso Studios Love Cross would be the perfect gift for those types of women in your life!
