BRAVE arrives in theaters everywhere on June 22nd!
It’s Easter in Radiator Springs and no one is more excited than Mater. He can’t wait for the Easter Buggy to fill his tire with goodies such as lugnuts and coolant. But his best friend Lightning McQueen is worried that Mater’s holiday will be ruined when Mater wakes up to find that his Easter tire is empty. So Lightning comes up with a plan to make sure his pal’s dreams aren’t dashed. After all, Lightning knows the Easter Buggy isn’t real. Right? This adorable picture book featuring everyone’s favorite Cars characters has foil on the cover and is perfect for Easter baskets…or tires!
My Thoughts
My goodness…how can anyone not love Mater. He’s always so fun, loving and a um, yeah…just a bit dim-witted…but that’s what makes Mater so fun and lovable. He’s just a big kid (uh, tow truck) at heart!
As Easter approaches…all of Radiator Springs prepares for a wonderful Holiday. No one is more excited about it then Mater…but Lightening is worried that Mater will be disappointed and decides to go through a lot of trouble to make sure Mater has a basket full of goodies on Easter morning.
Needless to say Lightening finds a lot more trouble then he was looking for. In the end did Mater find a basket of goodies? Well, pick up your copy of Mater and the Easter Buggy and find out!
A super cute book to read at Easter with your little ones.

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer). Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.
John Lasseter returns to the driver’s seat to direct this follow-up to his 2006 Golden Globe®-winning “Cars.” “Cars 2” is co-directed by Brad Lewis, producer of the Oscar®-winning film “Ratatouille,” and produced by visual effects industry veteran Denise Ream (associate producer, “Up”; visual effects executive producer, “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”). The film hits the track on June 24, 2011, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D in select theaters.
My Thoughts
We loved the original Cars so the IE Twins and I were pumped and ready to roll into action and watch Cars2. We were not disappointed. Lightening McQueen is still as arrogant and lovable (at the same time) as always and Mater…well, he’s Mater and you can’t help but love and sympathize with him all at once.
Cars2 is a bit more about Mater, in my opinion, then Lightening but that fact doesn’t take away from the fun of the story line. I actually liked that the writers decided to “star” a different character in this second film. It gave the viewer a more in depth look at the relationship between Lightening and Mater. Yes, I know they are animated characters…but really when you watch a Disney-Pixar film…do you really just see them as animations? Of course, not! “That’s” what makes them so great!
As the two jet off to first-ever World Grand Prix their relationship is tested. Are they really as great friends as they think they are? Can circumstances pull them apart?
Throw in a little intrigue, secrets and mayhem and you’ve got a great adventure to share with Lightening and Mater.
Grab some popcorn and grab the kids…you’ll have a “tow-rrific” time! Uh? Yeah…I did say that, lol.
