Beyond Suffering Bible Review

In this life there will be trouble and sometimes it’s almost impossible to understand why. The Bible offers so much in the way of peace, hope and encouragement. You just have to know where to find it. The Beyond Suffering Bible is a wonderful tool to help find them.

Joni Eareckson Tada is definitely an expert on the subject and she brings her lifetime of experience to the table. As a teenager in a diving accident she became wheelchair bound. I have always been amazed by her and her accomplishments and the way that she never became bitter but still used her life for Gods glory. She shares the wisdom she’s gained through the many tools included in this Bible.

My own criticism is that it’s not hardbound. I feel like all Bibles should be. The pages are thicker so that’s nice. I don’t care for the super thin ones. Outside of the aesthetics I liked everything else about this Bible.

In the “A Word from Joni” devotionals, she shows how to still seek God in the midst of suffering. No one avoids it in this life. What really sets people apart is how they handle it and seeking God first is the way to go.

My favorite was the “Connection Points” that offer study notes on suffering. This is especially helpful in looking for specific things relating to suffering.

The Beyond Suffering Bible offers a wealth of comfort and peace in the face of suffering. It would make a wonderful gift!
