Day out with Thomas at the Orange Empire Railway Museum Review @OrangeEmpireRaily #DOWT

My family has always loved the Orange Empire Railway Museum and Day out with Thomas has become one of our beloved family traditions over the years. It’s fun to look back over the years and see how much my kids have changed and grown!

Sadly my oldest Reed couldn’t join us this time because of a Cub Scout event but my seven year old Paige and two year old Jax had a blast! It was fun watching Paige show Jax around because she remembers everything now. The locations of a few things have moved around from previous years but the fun events are the same!

The excitement begins as soon as we enter and see Thomas making one of his runs! This is a picture I take every year!

When you enter you get a map with four locations to get stamped and at the end you get a free prize if you visit all four locations including Imagination Station, the Gift Shop, Storytime and Sir Topham Hat. It’s fun to find the places on the map and visit them all! My kids like to visit the other trains as well as do the Thomas themed events. My daughter brought her iPad to take selfies in front of the trains!

In addition to the four Thomas themed stations you get stamped there are a few other fun things like free tattoos!

The petting zoo is also always a hit and I love that this is free as well unless you want to buy food to feed them.

There is plenty of food to choose from but of course my kids like to go straight for the sweets!

The main event is always the best! You have to choose what time you will ride the train. I thought Jax would sleep on the way there but was too excited so he ended up falling asleep right before we boarded Thomas! Make sure to consider kids schedules like nap time and meals etc to make sure they are happy when on Thomas!

Luckily his little cat nap was enough so I woke him up on the train and he loved it! They even get a little junior engineer certificate on board!

img_6540Paige hasn’t outgrown the love of Thomas yet so I continue to enjoy this tradition with her!

Day out with Thomas is a wonderful family tradition we continue to enjoy year after year. If you missed the first weekend it’s not too late because he and Percy will be there this coming weekend as well! See below for complete ticket info and don’t miss this fantastic experience!
