It’s almost my favorite time of the year; fall! I don’t know if it’s my New England roots where the changing of the seasons is so spectacular or just a love of Halloween and what the season brings but it’s definitely a time to look forward to.
My kids share the same love of the season and all the activities that go with it. One of my favorite things to do that always turn out the best pictures is a visit to the pumpkin patch! This year at almost three years old will probably be the first year Jax really appreciates all the sites and sounds!
In preparation we have been reading Pumpkin Patch Blessings. This board book is just perfect for toddlers. It’s a board book with a sculpted edge that ties in perfectly with the adorable cover featuring pumpkins and adorable little bunnies.
The book is very rhythmic and lyrical with a rhyming format of four line each. This style of writing is very catchy which makes it great for the little ones just learning to talk and trying out their new words. Jax loves to repeat things he learns and use them as often as possible. After just a few reads he was starting to repeat the ending phrases because he learned to recognize what was coming through their rhymes.
The illustrations are adorable and very reminiscent of my own childhood. It’s not as cartoony as I initially expected and the images are very realistic with their content.
The activities at the pumpkin patch are very similar to the one we visit including the roasting corn, hayride and of course picking out a pumpkin!
Pumpkin Patch Blessings is a great introduction to the Pumpkin Patch and teaches kids to appreciate every little blessing the season brings.
