I’m Coloring Away on National Coloring Day! #Prismacolor #NationalColoringDay

It’s National Coloring Day and we are spending the day relaxing and coloring of course! My kids tools of choice are usually crayons. I, however, can’t really do the intricate lines of the new adult coloring books with them. I have also tried my kids colored pencils. While they definitely did a much better job, they didn’t really impress me either. The colors are kind of light and muted. Here is my bird with my kiddos colored pencils.

I switched over to Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils and immediately felt and saw a difference. They color so much softer and smoother. Regular colored pencils basically just feel like a standard pencil but with color. These were actually designed to color with!

The difference is even obvious in the end result.

There is a much larger variety of color options and you can choose even more than the 24 pack I got.

The other one of their products I tried is the Fine Line Illustration Markers. This one was a pack of eight so I was much more limited in my color options.

I used it for a simple drawing. I like the way the colors look so dark and defined. The tip was so fine I could color in the smallest detail. While I probably won’t use them again as the only tool on a page, I probably will combine them with the pencils to take care of the fine details and make them pop more!

I love coloring with my kids and now I have my own big girl pencils and markers to do it. And no, I don’t share!
