It could be cause we are better at recognizing it or it maybe due to a more stressful, less active lifestyle. Whatever the cause, it’s important that we start to equip our children at a young age to deal with their emotions in a healthy way. The first step is often realising that strong emotions encourage us to act in a certain way. A good way of doing this is to encourage them in a spiritual practice like prayer or mindfulness. The practices dont have to be religious although they can be depending on your personal choice. What these type of activities do is to allow a mental space between thought and action. So then our actions are not based on reactions to the thought going through their mind at that time. But we can make a choice on how to act, no matter how we feel.
