This book had a lot of things going for it before I even opened the cover. I absolutely love San Fransisco. It’s such a romantic and fun city with so much magic to it so I was thrilled to see All Summer Long took place in the city by the bay. I also read on the back cover that she had met her romance interest Leo Parker in sailing school and I love love love all things nautical, especially sailing!
Add to all that an original plot theme with Tia D’Amico helping her aunt transform a yacht into a restaurant. I definitely have never read anything like this before and a truly original plot is so refreshing. The icing on the cake is that it’s written by one of my favorite author’s Melody Carlson! So did it live up to all my expectation?
I love that Carlson dives right in to the whole premise of the book right away in chapter one. She knows how to pull you in and keep things moving along. Tia’s aunt Julie recruits her to refurbish a yacht she was left in an inheritance and wants her to get it started and then put her culinary school history to good use in the kitchen!
It isn’t long before we learn the history of Tia’s crush on Leo Parker and that coincidentally he happens to be the yacht captain. The plot thickens! Now this might have been a little TOO coincidental for my taste but hey, it’s a romance novel so you just have to go with it! Luckily Carlson knows how to pen a great romance!
The romance was a bit predictable and a little bit cliche but I still enjoyed it. It was fun taking a trip around San Fransisco through their eyes and recognizing many of the places I’ve seen before helped me feel I was right in the book!
While there weren’t really any twists and turns in All Summer Long, it was a good romance that was pure entertainment to read, as Carlson always provides!
About the Book
Tia D’Amico is thrilled to move to San Francisco to help her aunt transform an old luxury yacht into an upscale floating restaurant. What’s not to love? Sunset dinner cruises, upscale wedding receptions–the possibilities are endless and far more appetizing than staying in a monotonous job in her Podunk hometown. Besides, some of her best memories are tied to San Francisco–especially the memory of Leo Parker, her crush from a long-ago sailing camp.
When the self same Leo Parker turns out to be the yacht’s captain, Tia is floating on air. But will it all come crashing down around her when she discovers his heart belongs to someone else?
Get ready for a romantic summer in San Francisco, where the future glistens brighter than the bay at sunset.
