I just love the Hope Harbor series from Irene Hannon and have been anxiously anticipating the latest Sea Rose Lane. I gobbled this book up in a couple of days! It was such a great summertime read since it takes place on the shore. I even got to read it one day at the beach!
Whenever I read a series, it’s always hard for me to let go of the previous star character in the book! Tracy and Michael are the stars of the first book and while they make appearances in this one; the focus is on Eric and BJ. Like Tracy and Michael, they struggle with their past loves and careers. Each came to Hope Harbor for reprieve but the draw of their hometown keeps them there longer than planned.
I liked Eric’s no nonsense character who is often misjudged but has a depth of soul to him that he demonstrates through his actions like helping one of BJ’s employees in a time of distress.
BJ is also a character I admire, living on her own and focusing on a career that she is passionate about. A career isn’t enough to keep the heart warm though. Will she let Eric in knowing he might leave and after her previous broken heart? I had to keep turning the pages to find out!
Irene Hannon is a favorite author of mine and she always keeps me interesting in her stories with her unique characters and easy style of writing. Sea Rose Lane was just as good as Hope Harbor and I loved every page!
