We really enjoyed the first book in the Bible Belle series Hannah the Belle of Prayer so we were super excited to get Esther the Belle of Patience. We are actually studying the book of Esther at our church right now so I was doubly excited to share this with my six year old daughter.
I have always loved the story of Esther and she is such a great inspiration for little girls! She’s beautiful and little girls will love that she is a Queen. That is enough to grab their interest but the story will make them fall in love with her as a woman of God.
Esther had to be patient and wait on God to answer her prayers in HIS time so she makes the perfect Belle of patience.
Rooney is at her soccer game at the beginning of the book and Amanda is a dominate force on the team, hogging the ball and scoring all the goals without giving anyone else a chance. I think we’ve all had Amanda’s in our lives! Just when Rooney is about to speak up and complain to the coach, her personal little angel Mari appears to share the story of Esther with Rooney.
Again a magical window appears that allows Rooney to see into Esther’s story and watch it unfold before her. She sees how Esther has to be patient and wait for the right moment to approach the King to save her people. She can’t just ask for what she wants until the time is right.
Rooney realizes that she needs to be patient to and wait for the right time to talk to her coach about Amanda.
I loved this lesson in patience because there was so much to it that my daughter Paige could relate to. At six years old she really struggles with patience. Talking about Esther and Rooney helped her see great examples of how being patient and waiting on the Lord pays off in the end.
We loved Esther the Bell of Patience just as much as the first in the series and can’t wait to meet our next Belle!

About the Book
Bible Belles’ The Adventure of Rooney Cruz is an original children’s series that presents real life heroes like never before. The series highlights five superhero women of the Bible: Hannah, Esther, Abigail, Ruth and Deborah.
We’re setting out to present women in the Bible in a way that has never been done before. We want girls to connect with them and find out what being truly beautiful is all about. We want girls to remember their names, their stories, and how special they are.
