Summer is officially here and it’s time for some fun in the sun! The past couple of summers we have gotten passes to our local water park. The kids love it and it’s great exercise for them! The only downside is the sun.
Personally I am in love with the sun. Unfortunately we now know how harmful it can be. In addition to sunblock, we cover up as much as we comfortably can. But how do you do that when swimming?
I have found that our favorite kids clothing store The Children’s Place makes bathing suits with SPF 50 to protect their skin from the harmful rays that still get through clothing.
I’m happy I went when I did because the entire store was 50% off and things were going quick. Luckily I found everything I needed in swimwear for my kids, as well as a few accessories.
Reed is my oldest son. At eight years old he will soon outgrow The Children’s Place since sizes currently go up to 8. Luckily that didn’t affect us this summer yet! I found him a cute pair of swim trunks in blue and green and a swim shirt that matched well. I liked that it had a few colors in the top because it will match his other suit as well.
One of my favorite things about these shorts is they actually have a working drawstring! Reed is skinny and I’ll never understand the shorts that have a tie in the front that doesn’t go all the way around to tighten the waist! This way he will probably get several years out of them.
Paige is my middle child and the only girl. As such, she is a little bit spoiled and a little bit of a diva. See below exhibit A. They just have such cute accessories and I couldn’t resist!
We picked out a sweet pink striped two piece for her. I don’t want her wearing a bikini yet but I actually like the convenience of a two-piece that still covers everything. It really helps when they have to go to the bathroom yet still stays in place when they are active!
She spotted the accessories and quickly put together a matching hat and glasses set to complete her outfit. She definitely already has her own style and I just let her go with it!
My youngest Jax is two and this swimsuit was probably my favorite find of the day. I love the orange and blue color and the matching top with the fish he picked out himself.
He recently learned his colors and orange is his definite favorite so far. He picked out his own puddle jumper and I love that it matches the whole swimsuit set that I got him, not even planned!
Since we are spending so much time at the water park and beach this summer, I also got them water shoes.
I have purchased them before and they are always extremely difficult to get off and on. I was relieved to see how soft these were and my daughter can even put them on herself.
The Children’s Place had everything I was looking for, and more, to get my kids swim ready for the summer!
