All I want for Mother’s Day is a Good Night’s Sleep! #RestOn #Review & #Giveaway

m1

This will be my eight year celebrating Mothers Day as a mom. That means it’s been eight years since I had regular sleep! My youngest is two and still doesn’t sleep through the night every night but I’m hoping these nights are soon coming to an end.

Sleep is so important for renewal of the body and the mind! I literally start to feel insane from lack of sleep!

I don’t know all the details about the levels of sleep and what you need to achieve a feeling of rest every day but I can definitely feel it when I don’t get enough.

I just tried a smart sleep monitor that actually tracks all of those details for you. I found it really useful and interesting to investigate and learn about my sleep patterns.

It’s actually really simple to use even if the information provided can be somewhat complex.

First I downloaded the app which is available for both iPhones and android. I filled in some basic information about my age and weight.

The system comes with a small device attached to a strap. The strap goes under your sheet and you lay on top of it at night. Unlike many sleep systems it’s non wearable so the device itself doesn’t disrupt your sleep at all.  It’s easy to charge with an included USB cable.

After you have placed the strap under your sheet, you remove the magnetic cover to get it ready and then replace it.

To start you go to your app and start it and go to sleep. You can test your sleep system with your phone to make sure it’s getting a signal. That’s it! In the morning when you stop the app it gives you lots of interesting information.

It gives you an overall sleep score that includes how long you sleep, how long it took to fall asleep and how long the sleep was deep, light, movement present and awake. It gleans this information from your heart and respiratory rates detectable from the strap you are sleeping on.

It was correct that I did spend some time awake and then in a lighter sleep. That was when my two year old came in and woke me up. I did some tossing and turning after that so there was definite body movement. That seems to be a pattern every night!

Another interesting feature is that you can have music play until you fall asleep and then it will automatically turn off. Apparently it takes me about ten minutes to fall asleep. I would have guessed longer. You can also use an alarm feature but with three kids, I don’t ever need an alarm! The alarm detects when you are in a light sleep and it’s the best time to get up so it will wake you thirty minutes before your alarm goes off. That way you don’t wake up in that awful groggy moment where you feel like you can’t wake up!

This RestOn sleep system is really easy to use and I know mothers everywhere long for more sleep. It doesn’t stop you from getting kicked in the face by your toddler or woken up by a child having a nightmare but it does help you analyze your sleep to see what you need to improve on, in the areas you have control over!
