Top Tips to Change up Your Style

Now and then, a change of style is fun. I mean, we only live once! Big changes often make us feel better about ourselves, especially when the compliments start rolling in. But, what steps to take? Well, there’s a lot of ways to do this, from minor alterations to full-blown changes.

Your face is the first thing everyone looks at when they see you, so any changes you make will be most prominent here. Obviously, hair is one of the defining factors of your appearance, so try going for something completely different. Maybe you want to change to a different colour, or go wild and shave it all off? Don’t be put off if people react in a shocked way; they’re just used to seeing you differently. If you’re a regular glasses wearer, try switching to contact lenses. This will radically change your appearance, often for the better. It’s worth trying it out for a day-or-two and seeing how you go, as this is another big alteration that will get people talking.

Change your makeup style, highlight your best features, and don’t be afraid to experiment a little. Go out on the town and see what kind of reaction you get. Remember, the most important thing is that you feel good about yourself, and your new style and personality will compliment that.

In terms of dress-sense, follow the trend of this article and do something different. Wear skirts instead of jeans, or vice-versa. Go and grab that dress that “wouldn’t suit me”. If you really don’t like it after a night-or-two, take it back! There’s nothing wrong with experimenting. Above all, have fun! Of course, there’re other ways to change your style. Get a tattoo or get a piercing, but make sure you think carefully about it first, or you might up on Tattoo Nightmares in the not-too-distant future.

Changing your style doesn’t have to restrict itself to your appearance, either. Go for a mountain walk, talk the guy at the bar that you’d normally admire from a distance, and do all those things that you’d normally regret missing out on. So many of us like to retreat into our comfort zone, but that’s not what changing your style is all about. Be brave, be bold and do something to surprise yourself. Following your dreams or even taking mini-steps towards them can open up new doors and avenues for your future. You never just know what might come out of it. One thing’s for sure, sitting at home watching TV won’t create those opportunities for you.

This all comes back to the idea of having fun. If you try a change of style, and it just doesn’t feel right, then who cares?! The important thing is that you gave it a go, and it wasn’t for you. Now that you have that knowledge behind you, you’re better placed to develop a unique personal style in the future. So, take what you will from my advice, and I wish you every success!
