Thin Ice by Irene Hannon #Review @IreneHannon #IreneHannon

I put Irene Hannon on my “must read” list of authors which isn’t very long at this point. With three kids and trying to work from home, I don’t have a whole lot of time for reading. That’s why I only read authors I’m familiar with and adore! I read Hope Harbor this summer and so I was itching for a new Hannon book! I was super excited for Thin Ice to come out because I really needed a good suspense to read.

One of my favorite things about Hannon is the way she blends romance with suspense. It gives such depth to the romance and ads a whole other dimension to your traditional romance that’s just romance.

Christy Reed isn’t your typical heroine. While she does possesses the looks, she also has a past that’s deeply impacted her present and future. In a life that’s been wrought with tragedy, this girl can’t seem to get a break. After losing her entire family in the span of six months, it doesn’t seem things can get much worse.

When things take an unsettling turn, she has to involve the FBI and special agent Lance McGregor is assigned to her case. This is the beginning of a whole new adventure for Christy that has the potential to change her life for the better or go in an even darker direction.

I really liked McGregor and his laid back demeanor with dead on instincts to help the case in the right direction while keeping Christy calm and at peace.

Hannon is master at dropping hints along the way and giving you glimpses into the villains mind and drawing you into his world only to yank you back out and make you wait some more!

Thin Ice was another masterful suspense filled romance that left me wanting more from Hannon!

About the Book

If Ginny Reed is still alive–who is the woman buried in her grave?

After losing her parents and her sister, Christy Reed has been mired in grief. Now, life is finally starting to feel normal again–until an envelope addressed in her sister’s handwriting arrives in the mail. And the note inside claims she is still alive.

FBI Special Agent Lance McGregor, a former Delta Force operator, is assigned to reopen the case . . . but he’s coming up with more questions than answers. Is Christy a pawn in a twisted cat-and-mouse game–or the target of a sinister plot? As Lance digs deeper, one thing becomes clear: someone in the shadows has a deadly agenda.
