And then there was Light! #Giveaway #WaterproofLight

718dRVVXcIL._SL1010_My kids have been asking for us to decorate the outside of our house with lights since they could talk. Every year it’s the same conversation. Why do we not do outdoor lights? My answer is always the same: ask daddy!

My husband works long hours and doesn’t want to invest a lot of time and money into lights that only go up a few weeks a year. Well I sort of agree with him, I also want to fulfill my kids heart desire for lights on their house!

This year I started seeing for the first time all these laser light shows on houses and I had to know what they were. It turns out the answer was simpler than I could have ever imagined!

This cool little landscape light flashes a light show in red and green and covers 600 square feet! It can stand alone or you can use a peg to stick in in the ground. That’s the option I chose since I stuck in in some dirt in our planter to shine up onto the front of our house.

It came with little assembly required. What’s weird is mine came with all kinds of loose screws and washers and while there were directions, they weren’t very specific. I didn’t see where anything else could go so maybe they just sent a bunch of spares but better directions and packaging would be nice.

Once I had it together and turned it on for the first time, I have to say I was hugely impressed with the results! My kids and I lay on our floor and just watched the show for a good half hour! It’s truly mesmerizing the way the lights swirl and move and change pattern. I moved it outside to its final spot. I took some pictures but they are hard to get good ones at night. It at least gives you a general idea of the different patterns.

Another cool effect is that where the light hits the rocks on the ground it makes it’s own unique pattern. It also shown on the tree we have in the planter.

It was really easy to use. All I did was use the provided stake, stick it in the ground, plug it in and then just tip to adjust. One bummer is that there’s no on/off button. You have to unplug it. It also suggests leaving on for six hours and then cooling it for half hour. It’d be nice if future models had a timer that did this for you. Instead I just went out and unplugged it before I went to bed.

I woke up today to the sound of pouring rain and panicked. It was sitting in a pool of water! Luckily it is waterproof and still worked and I can testify to that! Whew!

This Waterproof light can be used indoor and outdoor and is truly a spectacular sight to see. My kids are thrilled that our house is no longer the darkest on the street!
