I am a huge Eric Carle fan and each of my children have adored the timeless classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I saw this booster seat and thought it was just absolutely delightful! So did all three of my kids! As soon as my almost two year old Jax saw the box he started asking to sit in it.
I was able to put it together pretty quickly and strap it to our chair. It comes with a back strap to go behind the chair and one to go underneath.
Unfortunately we have wide chairs so I couldn’t actually secure the bottom one. Luckily Jax is at an age where he can basically get in and out by himself and since the chair is wide, it’s not likely to fall. If you have a wider chair though, this might not fit.
It comes with a snack tray that secures onto the chair so you can use it as stand alone like a high chair when they are younger and then remove the tray and pull it up to a table to use like a booster. The snack tray has several different locking positions and is easy to put on and remove.
The design on top is absolutely adorable! It shows a bunch of fruit with holes in the middle just like the book!
One really cool feature of this booster that I’ve never seen before is that you can click and store the tray on the bottom of the booster. Between that and the handle on the back for carrying; this is the perfect booster to take on the go and keep in the car with you for restaurants or visiting other peoples houses.
Jax sees something new and wants to use it immediately so I got him a snack, of apples of course!
There are three little dividers. One can be a cupholder, the middle the main section and the other side Jax used to store his pacifier while he ate! As you can see from the picture, it is a rather small area and only fit these three things. A plate wouldn’t fit. However, this little divider is removable which gives you more room on top, plus it’s easy to wash without having to take the whole top portion of the tray.
Jax is almost two and thirty pounds. He’s also really tall for his age. This booster says it’s good up to 50 pounds but I don’t see it lasting that long for us. I am already near the max for the seat belt adjustment and the whole thing is on the smaller side. There is a three point harness that’s perfect for younger babies and two recline positions and three tray positions so it definitely has room to grow. How far remains to be seen!
I think this booster is better for smaller babies but we’ll definitely be using it as long as he fits! The design is just adorable and Jax loves it! The seat is cushiony and that part is also removable for washing.
If you know any Eric Carle fans this would make a really cute and practical gift this Christmas!
Babies as young as 3 months will get a giggle when seated with the green caterpillar from the pages of Eric Carle’s beloved picture book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar™. The booster’s easy-to-clean cushy seat pad will get two thumbs up from moms and the removable tray can be cleaned in the dishwasher! This enchanting green chair is designed to fit baby snugly.
