Who’s ready for the Shaun the Sheep Movie? Well clearly we are!

My kids actually haven’t seen Shaun the Sheep before but the second they saw this trailer, they were hooked and begging me to take them NOW! Oops, it’s not out until August 5th but here’s a sneak peak of what all the fuss is about.

It looks like a whole lot of sheep shenanigans which is right up my kids alley! Now as a parent, I do feel I would be remiss not to mention a few things I noticed for those who might be more sensitive to them. I did notice a few, ahem, bodily functions (belching etc) and at the end I do believe I saw one animal stuck in another’s rear. It’s all for silly, good fun but I do know there are parents who don’t appreciate this type of humor so I would say to them to read the reviews and watch the trailer carefully so you are fully aware ahead of time.

That being said, I didn’t see anything where I won’t let my kids watch. Those things are silly to laugh at and if it results in my kids copying that behavior it will be addressed. I have a couple of sillies in my house that like to imitate things so I always keep an eye on those types of situations. Let’s just call this Exhibit A.

There are additional “Meet the Characters” Featurettes to give you a little more insight. My personal favorite is Timmy because he’s the toddler of the group and reminds me of my little one year old Jax. He copies everything Shaun the sheep does, even the naughty things which is very familiar to me!

I really like the Claymation and that appeals to my middle child the most who is five years old. I like it because it reminds me of the movies of my childhood and like that we share that connection.

Even though Shaun and his friends get into trouble, I like that they work together to get out. I think that kids will relate to Shaun and his desire to change schedules, explore and experience adventures with his friends. I know those are things I want my kids to experience in life.

Shaun the Sheep looks like a great family movie and I can’t wait to take my kids to see it on the fifth! In preparation for the movie, enter to win a fun Shaun the Sheep prize pack!
