I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Sprint. I received a Sprint device to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Most of us remember the old Thumb Wars game “one, two, three, four; I declare a thumb war!” Well after reading this, you’ll never think of Thumb Wars the same again!
As a mom I worry constantly about my kids! When they are infants I worry about somehow accidentally killing them; as toddlers I worry about how to keep them from accidentally killing themselves and from what I hear the teen years won’t be much different! Teens are dying every day while texting and driving and I am thrilled to hear that Sprint offers solutions to protect our kids from themselves!
The Thumb Wars
With the amount of accidents due to texting each year, I love the implementation of the Thumb Wars campaign! It’s pretty simple! You sign up here and you will be sent a free pair of the Thumb Socks for yourself and a free pair for a friend!
They are a good, constant reminder to not text and drive since it’s physically impossible to do so while wearing them! But wait, it gets even better! If you upload a pic of yourself wearing them, you are entered to win a $10,000 scholarship!
Not convinced yet? Here are some alarming statistics on accidents involving texting.
Those are some pretty disturbing numbers! Here’s something else Sprint is doing to help.
The Drive First App
The Drive First App is another brilliant tool offered to protect kids! I downloaded it in seconds and it’s concept is simple. Once it senses the car is in motion, it will not allow you to use the phone! It’s on a screen that basically locks it with only two options to press. One says Emergency call and the other says I’m not Driving.
You also have the option to select Auto Reply where people will be notified of your status. This takes away that panic we all sometimes feel when we get a text or voice mail while driving that we feel we need to respond to right away. This way we technically have responded and the person knows we will get back to them!
The Sprint LG G4
I ordered the Thumb Wars Socks, downloaded the Drive First App and took the pictures above all using my new LG G4. It does it all! After using an iPhone for years, this is my first experience with Android and I have to say I’m loving it!
The phone itself is really large at 5.86″ x 3.0″ x 0.39″ and I like the way it fits perfectly in my hand without worries of it slipping out.
One of the best features is the camera! Here are some stats:
The LG G4 is a photographer’s dream, with two robust cameras – the 8MP front-facing for epic selfies with Gesture Shot, and the 16MP rear-facing for bright images with the f/1.8 low-light lens and color spectrum sensor. The 5.5” IPS Quantum display reproduces amazing color representation and accuracy. It’s like a professional camera in your pocket.
After seeing the pictures it takes, this has become my new camera! It actually takes better pictures than my traditional and it’s something I already have with me all the time. I love that I can slip it into my pocket since it’s so thin instead of carrying a big bulky camera bag. Even my one year old can take a great selfie!
I’ll be writing more in the coming months about the LG G4 as I explore all it’s features. You can check it out at your local Spring store found here.
The LG G4 is my favorite new camera and is keeping me safe utilizing the Drive First App and helping me to participate in The Thumb Wars. Don’t forget to sign up and get a pair for yourself and a friend and stay safe!
