It’s finally summer which means all kinds of wonderful, exciting things for the kids!
This year my seven year old Reed did Cub Scouts and was on the swim team. That means lots of activities and opportunities for fun! It also means opportunity for lost jackets, mixed up towels and even missing shoes!
I have tried writing on my kids clothes with pens but it doesn’t always show up and sometimes when it does, it washes off! Mabel’s Labels had the answer to all these issues and more! Since they are washing machine, dishwasher and even microwave safe, there’s no chance of them disappearing!
I got the set appropriately named The Camp Pack limited edition which covered all my needs. I let Reed choose the image and the font since they are fit him. He chose a tent! It was easy to personalize and order and I had them in hand in less than a week.
I really like that the majority of the labels all came together in a book complete with inventory of what’s included on the front page and instructions for use on the last.
The two that came separately are the metal tags that can be attached to a backpack or duffle bag. Reed once left his backpack in the wrong part of the school and it took while for them to locate who it belonged to. This helps everyone to know in a glance who it belongs to!
The labels come in a variety of shapes and sizes. One big issue Reed had this year was someone taking a spy pen he had bought with his own money. He came home with two new pens today and I immediately used the long skinny size to stake his claim on them! This size would also be good for camps for things like toothbrushes or camping gear.
I also really liked the shoe ones! When we are at swim meets running back and forth between kids, shoes often get left behind. Now we have his name on them!
Another common issue I have experienced is with clothing. Kids are notorious for leaving jackets behind. Reed’s current jacket is black and red and there was nowhere to write his name. It was nice to have something I could just stick on and will stay on in the wash. I didn’t even need to iron!!
I was extremely impressed with the quality of the labels. I half expected them to be paper but they are a nice, thick material that gives a little and can be stretched and pulled to fit.
I am really happy with Mabel’s Labels and while they were a practical thing for me, Reed was excited about them and running around looking for things to stick them on! My daughter immediate asked where hers were. Time to order more!
