DoggieLawn Full Sized Fido Real Grass Potty Box #Review #DoggieLawnPlus @DoggieLawn

ef65305add2cf986784155944cae33617d2f4098We recently added our first dog to our growing family! He’s a little four pound Chihuahua so he doesn’t take up a whole lot of room, which is good because we have a very small backyard! It is so small in fact, that we cemented the whole thing! We didn’t think it was that big of a deal, until we got a dog!

IMG_8675When we got Odie, potty training presented to be a real problem! Where does a dog go if not in the grass? Sadly he made our welcome mat his potty mat! When I saw this Doggie Lawn, I had to have it! It’s the perfect solution!

I didn’t realize until it arrived that it was actually live grass! I thought it was fake grass at first but that wouldn’t be much better than the welcome mat in the long run! It came nicely packaged in plastic and they were considerate enough to even include a pair of gloves so I could set it up without getting dirty.

IMG_8671It comes with a tray that goes underneath to catch anything from dripping out and staining the cement.

As soon as I set it up, Odie went straight for it to explore.IMG_8673He didn’t immediately go to the bathroom there since he wasn’t used to it. I dragged over his nasty old mat that he was going on and put it on top of the grass. The next few days he went on the mat on the grass. Once he was used to it, I got rid of the mat and now he just goes on the grass! It’s so nice to have it contained and not on a mat we step on as soon as we walk out the door!

I have been watering the grass periodically and it’s in an area that gets sunlight but not too much. I’ve noticed the past week it’s starting to die. Doggie Lawn has a couple different options for maintaining this system. You can have a new one sent to you every other week, or just once a month. I did notice it starting to die after about two weeks. However, it’s in my backyard for my dog to go to the bathroom on so I don’t care too much about it’s appearance! However, if you’re a stickler for perfection, it’s nice to have the option to have it replaced frequently.

I think the service itself is a little pricey. It’s $39 if you want to get once a month or $60 for twice a month. It seems a lot to pay for grass but I also like the convenience. They deliver it and you can have it set up automatically. I guess it just depends what it’s worth to you!

This is the perfect solution for those that live in apartments that have a dog or people like me with no grass. I’m happy to have a nice place for Odie to take care of his business that doesn’t get in the way!
