My Thoughts

My daughter love, love, loves kittens! She has been asking for one since she learned the word I think! Since that’s not going to happen anytime soon, I thought this book Only God Can Make a Kitten might appease her a bit!

As expected, she was excited as soon as she saw the cover and literally gasped! We had to sit down to read it right away.

The book is written in rhymes so it’s very lyrical. It goes through all of the things that God can make which is the perfect theme as we get close to Spring. The kitten is one of the things that God can make. My daughter was a little disappointed to find that the book wasn’t ALL about the kitten but was just one of the many things listed that God made. However, she still enjoyed the book and asked to hear it over and over.

I really like reading books that rhyme as a parent. It makes it easier to get into it and fluctuate my voice along with the patterns. It also makes memorization easier for the little ones and I noticed Paige starting to chime in on the phrases as I read them, especially relating to the kitten!

Only God Can Make a Kitten isn’t JUST about kittens but children will love this whimsical book about our great creator.
