After having three kids a lot of things have changed about my body. While I expected that, I didn’t expect my hair to change as well! First it fell out for several months and then when it came back in it was wavy in some spots! I really don’t like wavy, frizzy hair so I choose to straighten mine after blow drying it because I prefer a sleek, straight look to big hair!
I have had the same flat iron for several years so I was ready to try something new. The Gurin 1.25” is half about the size of my old Flat Iron. I’m not sure that the plate size actually matters since you go down the entire length of your hair anyway.
My first impression was good since I immediately noted a few differences from my old one. First, it came in a pretty carrying bag. Sure it’s just packaging but it does make a good impression and it’s nice to have something to store it in without the cords getting twisted with other things.
The other thing I really liked is that the nob to turn it off and on as well as the temperature adjustment is inside of it. It’s not the most convenient way to do it but I do feel like it’s the safest. You’re less likely to accidentally press something and more importantly, it’s harder for the little ones to mess with it.
Now here are the things I didn’t love. Even at the highest temperature, it didn’t completely get out the waves. I went over and over the same sections. It did get it out some, but not as straight as I’d like. It makes me nervous to keep doing the same section because I don’t want to fry my hair.
This Ceramic Flat Iron is low priced at $24.95 on Amazon so I do think it’s a great bargain, especially with the bonus case and safety measures. I wish it got a little hotter to work faster but the safety precaution probably saves hair from frying!
