Yesterday was our first time at the Disney Jr Live show and we had a blast! My boys have been under the weather so we invited some friends and made it a girls day!
I love going to the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario because you can see from anywhere! We had a perfect view of the girls favorite characters! When Doc McStuffin’s did a little pre-show appearance the girls were immediately enthralled!
From an adults point of view I was a little surprised to see that characters that are children were played by adults and Paige noticed it as well. I’m sure that’s because of the demands of the job but it did throw Paige off and she asked me about it. This show is recommended up to age five and Paige is five so maybe the smaller ones won’t notice but she did. I wasn’t expecting her to be so observant about such things! But once she got past that, she did enjoy the show!
I liked that it was a little bit interactive and the kids several times were asked to stand up and “help” much as they do on the actual TV shows. Paige and her friend Casey both got up and danced, jumped, wiggled; whatever was asked of them! This is pretty smart to help kids get the wiggles out so they can sit through and enjoy the show!
The show basically consists of two different performances, introduced by Mickey and Minnie of course. First up was Sophia the First with a guest appearance by Cinderella and the second half was Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
I like that it’s Pirates and Princesses so there’s something for the boys and the girls. There were many magical moments like when actual bubbles fall from the sky and gold d blooms rain down.
The show is short enough to hold the little ones attention but long enough to be worth your while. I think kids five and under who are familiar with these characters will be thrilled!
