I’m pretty vocal about the fact that Target is my go to store for everything so why would it be any different when Christmas shopping? This Christmas is extra special because it’s Jax’s first Christmas. Since he is almost one; it’s going to be about as fun as it can possibly be! He’s old enough to open his own presents, catch on to the excitement and enjoy the time with us, but it’s still technically his first Christmas since he was born on the 30th.
Since he’s a baby, obviously he doesn’t tell me what he wants. But as a mom, I’m always paying attention. I know what he likes and what grabs his attention and shop accordingly.
Unfortunately, I had to bring Jax with me to shop for him but that’s ok, I’m pretty sure he won’t remember and will still act surprised on Christmas morning!
What does every good Target shopping trip start with? Starbucks of course! I love that they combine two of my favorite things in one place!
My second stop is always the dollar bin! This was the perfect place to get all my stocking stuffers. Since one of the things Jax actually shows interest in is the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse store, I got him some Mickey socks! It’s practical, yet he’ll love them! I also got him some cute crayons for the tub since he loves bath time and little Christmas board books and a slinky, because every kid needs a slinky.
Ok that wasn’t fun or really for Christmas but I don’t call it one stop shopping for nothing!
One of our holiday traditions is getting the kids a new pair of pi’s for Christmas. They open them on Christmas Eve so they can wear them that night. Then all our Christmas morning pictures are taken in their cute new pi’s. I love Target for my baby clothes!
At last we have arrived in the toy aisle! I actually like to let Jax out here and let him look around and see what he gravitates to. I wasn’t surprised when he headed for the Mickey stuff!
Some things I wait until I have my husbands input or put them on a list for Grandma’s and Grandpa’s but I couldn’t leave without the Mickey chair! I couldn’t hide it from him but I’m still going to wrap it up and put it under the tree! Plus it came in handy when he got fussy while we were waiting in line.
As you can see, what I like to do when I’m shopping is take pictures. If I’m not sure about something and want to ask my husbands opinion or want to send a picture to Grandma, I take a picture. It’s like my visual shopping list! When I’m done, I go back through the pictures and see all my options. I usually go back and pick up a few things once I’ve gotten the big picture and send the rest off to family members who are still shopping. Here are the things I thought Jax would like.
That last one we would get in blue of course but they were out. I am ordering it online since I have a Target Red Card and can get free shipping without the hassle of buying something so big in store, not to mention 5% off every puchase! This is going to be his big gift!
I did manage to get a couple things in the basket without him seeing that I hid behind his Mickey Chair. We are Frozen fans, of course, and my older kids really wanted him to have this talking Olaf plush!
This might be silly for a baby but we are big Star Wars fans. Jax is not even one yet but the boy can handle his Light Saber! The kids play with him all the time along with their dad and so even though it’s rated 6+, I got him his own! He will, of course, only be playing with it with parental supervision!
When he was a baby we dressed him up as Yoda so it was only fitting he got Yoda’s Light Saber!
I had fun shopping with Jax, for Jax, for Christmas! As always, Target had everything I wanted and needed and I was even able to put together gift ideas for everyone else to get him! From stocking stuffers to clothing and toys, Jax is covered! I can’t wait to celebrate Christmas with my sweet baby boy!
