My Thoughts

My kids and I love to bake! I started a tradition with them when Reed was not even two of baking sugar cookies for the holidays. We always do pumpkins for Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas shapes for Christmas.

The first few years it was all just a big mess but they are some of my favorite memories! At six and five, they have actually gotten into watching home movies. We recently watched them from their first few Christmases and watching those chubby little toddlers baking cookies made me realize what a precious tradition it is!

Since Thanksgiving is next, we just did our Thanksgiving sugar cookies and will do them again for Christmas.

Every year we look forward to doing this together. I try to pay attention to what I am putting into my kids bodies and the ingredients play a big factor! That’s why I really like that NestFresh has cage free eggs. I actually talked to Paige about what this means because she is such an animal lover! Here it is straight from the NestFresh website.

All of our eggs are always 100% cage free. That means that no matter which NestFresh Eggs you choose, you can be sure that the hens that laid your eggs had room to roam around large barns. Not only that, but our hens are also free to jump on perches, run throughout the barns, lay their eggs in nestboxes, flap their wings, preen in a dustbath, socialize with their friends, and enjoy all of the perks of being a 100% cage free NestFresh hen. Because we treat our hens so well, they produce the freshest, best tasting eggs. The happiness of both our hens and our customers are our highest priorities. Or, to put it simply, happy hens, healthy humans.

While that technically might not change the taste of the eggs, I’m sure the stress level, health and happiness of the hens does affect the kind of eggs that they produce! Even though we’re making sugar cookies that aren’t technically good for you, I still want them to be made with the freshest ingredients possible! NestFresh helps to make that a possibility.

This holiday season, no matter what your baking tradition, why not start with wholesome ingredients from a place that treats their animals right? This would make a cute stocking stuffer for your favorite baker. And by stocking stuffer, I mean the egg certificates, not the eggs themselves! Enter to win some below!

Eggs With A Conscience

Since the beginning, NestFresh has always been committed to treating our hens humanely and giving them a more natural way of life. While we try to produce the humane alternative to regular eggs, we also try to produce them in the most local, natural and sustainable way, too. For us, that means NestFresh hens eat only the best vegetarian feed and are never exposed to hormones, antibiotics, or any harmful chemicals. NestFresh Eggs come from small family farms across the country and are packed into recycled, recyclable, and compostable cartons.

Over the years we have continued to add more farms to our network of family farms and developed even more options for people that want the best eggs possible. In addition to the cage free eggs that started NestFresh, we now offer Non-GMO Free Range, Organic, Pasture Raised, Omega-3, and Liquid Eggs from 100% cage free hens. Each of these come from family farms that are committed to sustainable agriculture and humane animal care. We invite you to learn more about us, our farms, and our products.
