This is my first experience with Origami Owl. I had heard about it and knew a lot of friends were having parties and getting into it but I didn’t know what all the fuss was about, until now!
I basically became obsessed as soon as I started putting together my Living Locket from the website. I had such a hard time narrowing down my selections and built about five different versions in my head! Now I want to buy one for everyone I know – starting with my daughter because she keeps stealing mine!
I started with the Living Locket. I’m pretty simple in my taste so while the lockets with crystals caught my eye, I decided to go with the Large Silver Living Locket. I knew there would be cute little charms inside and wanted that to be the focal point. This one was simply, classy and the right size for the charms I wanted inside.
Now the charms are where I really struggled! There were so many different, themes/ideas I had in mind. But of course I had to go with my heart and what’s most important to me: being a mom! As soon as I saw the birth stone charms that were little boys and girls, it was decided; I had to have them!
Are those not the cutest things you’ve ever seen? Love, love, love! Of course my most important job title in life has been “Mom” so I had to include that!
And lastly an all encompassing charm that just says it all: love!
I couldn’t wait to see the end result and it was better than I expected!
The chain is the 16″ – 18″ Silver Ball Station Chain.
Now that I see how big it is and that there’s actually room for more charms (7 – 10 depending on size) I want to add more to it! The locket easily opens but also stays magnetically shut tight when you need it to. This seems to be much more effective at containing the charms than snap shut type lockets with a clasp that always breaks. Looking through the charms I would love to add one from the Faith section.
I absolutely adore this Origami Owl necklace and everything that it represents. It’s great quality and I know it will last me forever. It’s also a great conversation piece! People ask me about it and it’s an open invitation to brag about my children (not that I ever wait for an invitation!)
I am definitely going to need to get some more charms so I can mix it up on some days. I love that you can play with it and change the charms depending on your mood, the occasion or just to match an outfit! This would make the perfect graduation gift with June quickly approaching.
