Love Clothes? You’ll Love DownEast Basics!

I was blessed to fall into this fun opportunity to attend a blogger mixer at a store that I never had heard about until recently, DownEast Basics. Let me tell you it immediately became one of my favorites!

DownEast Basics is a totally trendy, yet affordable, shop in the Irvine Spectrum Center that you will fall in love with too! Now the only sad thing is that the Irvine store is the closest one to me and it’s about 1 1/2 hours away. But hey…ya know…I think it’s totally worth the drive and since it’s so close to the beach…I’m sure I can make a day out of it! Yes, yes, that’s exactly what I will do the next time I get the urge to go down there. For those of you not in California they have a store locator to determine if their is a store near you and you can order online. Yes!

I decided to make a fun GNO (Girls Night Out) of it for myself and the IE Twins. They are getting older and it’s becoming more and more enjoyable to take them shopping. We had a pleasant dinner and a hilarious ride home. It was an excellent evening.

Each blogger and guest were offered a complimentary gift card from DownEast Basics to find a few things they’d loved. I was a little hesitant at first thinking that I might not find anything I’d like…but after losing my weight shopping is so much more exciting that I was totally up to the challenge.

One of the great things about DownEast Basics is that they carry a little girls line, both in the stores and online. The IE Twins found a handful of items to try own…but only one of them was successful in finding the perfect blouse. The gorgeous soft pink blouse has a few layers of flounce and is completely girlie. The best part is that it was on sale for only $11.99! Not to be left out the other IE Twin hit the jewelry department and found a sweet pair of heart shaped red (her favorite color) plaid earrings and an adorable gold-tone letter necklace which was embellished with a red rhinestone. She was a happy camper…they both were.

When I went into the store I had a specific agenda in mind. (1) I wanted my money to stretch and (2) I wanted to find a great outfit to wear to an event I’m attending this weekend.

So did I hit my goals? Yes! I think I did.

The lace halter top was only $9.99 and my jeans were $20.00 plus an additional 40% which brought them down to $12! Score baby! Ok…and just to brag for a moment..the shirt is a small and the pants are an 8! Oh happy day!!

Of course…you know that I didn’t stop there and had to pick up another something special. Loved these denim jeans so much…they had to come home with me. Frankly, I could have happily spent more money and time there…a lot more! I dont’ have much of a backside so jeans that have embroidered or embellished pockets are always a positive for us that are less fortunate then J-Lo.

I have had DownEast Basics on my mind all day…and I know it’s only a matter of time before I pop the twins into the car and head on down to my new favorite store. You should join me! Right now ALL their skirts are $25 and under and their Denim is 40% Off!

Oh! Yeah…one more, very important thing…the staff last night was outstanding. The staff leader, Laura, found a pair of jeans for me that weren’t even on the sales floor. They are the ones I am wearing in the picture and they fit great! A huge thanks to Laura and her staff for a fun event, a great shopping experience and marvelous deals!
