Voters can do nothing until they have the facts—the hard, cold, true facts, and that is what Hugh Hewitt provides in THE BRIEF AGAINST OBAMA: The Rise, Fall & Epic Fail of the Hope & Change Presidency. Hugh makes the case that Obama’s has been a disastrous presidency, a fiasco in fact, and reveals the president to be a wholly unprepared and incapable-of-learning ideologue whose nearly every move has been wrong, and whose almost every decision has been ill-conceived and poorly executed. But for the SEALs’ dispatch of bin Laden and the military’s removal of al-Awalki and other terrorists—whom the president still seeks to remove from Gitmo to domestic courts in the United States—Obama would be wholly without anything to claim as an achievement of his time in the Oval Office.
In addition to the monumental failures of Obamacare, the soaring unemployment rate, the 2009 “stimulus” and the massive debt, Hugh Hewitt examines the scores and scores of broken promises and fraudulent forecasts, dozens of dodges and hundreds of disastrous innovations that President Obama has inflicted on America. It has been a reign of incompetency not before seen in the country—ever. According to Hewitt, President Obama is not just a failed president, but the most spectacularly failed president of modern times, and Hewitt’s precise and lawyerly indictment is made to help the American people see what has happened, and what desperately needs to be done in the upcoming election.
The path for the American people is clear and urgent: Barack Obama mustn’t be allowed to run the country into the ground as the Commander-in-Chief for four more years.
My Thoughts
I loved Hugh Hewitt’s new book, The Brief Against Obama. The reason I enjoyed it so much is because it’s a book about facts. Facts are tough to deny. Facts are truth…not theory or opinion…and Hewitt lays out a plethora of facts about Barack Obama that are hard to ignore. If you don’t know Hugh Hewitt, he’s a thought provoking conservative radio host, a very successful attorney, and a New York Times bestselling author. His books are excellent resource collections in the political world. He definitely does his homework in this collection of statistical evidence and he lays out the material in easy to understand terms.
The book starts with explaining the enormous fiscal problem of our current President…who wasted no time spending nearly a trillion dollars right out of the box, with nothing significant to show for it. Page 42 of the book lays it out in plain English.
Take a look at the spending comparisons of administrations in prior years:
- 1998: No deficit (69 billion surplus)
- 1999: No deficit (125 billion surplus)
- 2000: No deficit (236 billion surplus)
- 2001: No deficit (128 billion surplus)
- 2002: 158 billion
- 2003: 377 billion
- 2004: 412 billion
- 2005: 318 billion
- 2006: 248 billion
- 2007: 161 billion
- 2008: 459 billion
- 2009: 1,413 billion (1.4 trillion)
- 2010: 1,293 billion (1.3 trillion)
- 2011: 1,299 billion (1.3 trillion)
As we discover a few years later, the Obama “stimulus” was a miserable failure…even though Obama’s administration proudly claimed in 2010 that we were in the “summer of recovery.”
The Stimulus also promised 3-4 million jobs…but never delivered. The national unemployment rate in America has been over 8% for nearly three years. In addition, 535 million dollars was given to green energy company Solyndra (not a substitute sweetener as many Americans believe) with Vice President Biden promising it would bring thousands of high tech jobs. Shockingly…Solyndra not only failed to create millions of jobs but they filed bankruptcy just two years later. How can this happen, you ask? You’ll need to read this book to unravel the truth.
Chapter 9 dives into the shocking but true operation of Fast and Furious. Hewitt lays out a convincing argument that Obama’s Department of Justice and Eric Holder had full knowledge of this failed operation. As more evidence has surfaced recently it’s difficult to believe that Obama and Holder don’t have something to hide behind this debacle…which was responsible for lost lives, including an American Border Patrol Agent.
The Brief Against Obama gives the reader and the American people an inside look at Obama’s views on foreign policy and his lousy attempt to keep America on the forefront of dominance. Hewitt reminds us that Obama’s televised “whisper” to Russia that he’ll have more flexibility after the election…is a scary indication of his plans for the future of our country.
In addition, the book thoroughly explains the promise Obama made to close Gitmo bay prison as soon as he was sworn into office. He also promised to give captured terrorists a civil trial in a court of law, but Congress was smart enough to block his attempts. Gitmo remains open today, showing that Obama is in over his head when it comes to dealing with the important topic of international terrorism.
The Final portion of the book focuses on Obama’s failed leadership. Whether its about public education…reducing our enormous deficit, or his claims of America being soft and lazy over the last few decades…Hewitt again makes a strong case that Obama is a terrible leader. You certainly don’t need to look hard to find numerous examples of failed leadership.
If you add a few additional points in the book on important topics such as Obamacare…unemployment…failed stimulus…lies…broken promises…turning his back on our most reliable ally in the middle east (Israel) and
directing his Department of Justice not to defend defense of marriage act, I think you’ll agree that Obama could go down as one of the most disappointing presidents in modern history. Not only do I recommend this book for every American adult, but it should be required reading for every college graduate and high school student as well.
I agree with Hewitt’s brief. Let’s retire Barack…and send him back to Chicago. Give someone else an opportunity to fix our economy, create jobs, and restore American values to our country. Your vote for anyone other than him can make that happen.
