My Thoughts
When I had the opportunity to review the Chicken Soup “Here Comes the Bride” book, I thought it might be fun to read about weddings since I loved planning my own two daughters weddings and have so many memories of being a bride myself many years ago.
The stories had me laughing, crying, and my heart was melting all in one book. In reading these stories I was reminded over again that “Love is a choice no matter the circumstances”.
The magical proposals had me smiling, while the not so romantic under the muddy bridge proposals had me chuckling. There are millions of details that have to be made for weddings. The stories clearly reveal that even the most planned weddings will have their disasters. I think the stories prove that just about anything can happen. I learned from reading these stories, “Weddings are about love and connection not producing an event”.
I enjoyed the book more than I expected to. It was like reading a love story over and over again. From the most elegant wedding to eloping and returning home married, you still have the same results. Lots of memories come with weddings both good or bad, but like one of the girls said, “expect something to go wrong because it will”. Those memories make great stories to tell in the years to come, and who knows your story may make it to “Chicken Soup for the Soul” just like the ones I read.
