I have done a lot of book reviews but this one is a bit different. Not only are the Casey and Bella series of books great for young readers.  Jane Lovascio also donates $2.00 from each book sold to childrens charities and sponsors a young writers contest with an amazing cash prize of $500 and the opportunity to be a published author!

The IE Twins were beyond delighted to receive not one but three fun books from Casey and Bella. They squealed when they saw that each book was signed with a signature and paw print directly from Casey and Bella (nice touch Jane!)

We were able to enjoy Casey and Bella go to Hollywood, Casey and Bella go to New York and Casey and Bella go Green (2009 Contest Winner’s submission).

The IE Twins absolutely adore dogs so I knew that Casey and Bella would be a hit. I was not disappointed. Jane Lovascio does a wonderful job of showing the world through the eyes of two lovable and sweet canine friends.  Each books has fun, colorful illustrations. An easy to read and follow storyline allows your child to understand exactly what Casey and Bella are up to.  As a mom and home school teacher I found that the “moral” to each story was an extra bonus and a perfect opportunity to share examples of kindness, sharing, friendship and respect with my children.

My personal favorite of the three titles is Casey and Bella go to New York.  There is mention of Central Park, Greenwich Village, the Big Apple, Times Square and Hoboken…which gave my daughters a wonderful visual as we continued our journey with Casey and Bella.

Casey and Bella are lovable, curious, cute, smart, friendly and kind little dogs that will capture your child’s heart and imagination.
