2010 – The Perfect Time for Journals Unlimited (Review)

As much as I like to talk and thoroughly enjoy writing my blog…in reality I am not much of a blogger. I have never really been diligent in creating journals. I LOVE journals. I can never get enough of the beautiful books but I quickly get bored writing in them.

I know a lot of ladies that journal about everything. Their lives, their faith, their children, their relationships.

The main reason that I don’t journal is my carpal tunnel that really becomes agitated when I write but another is that I sometimes get stumped on “what” to write.

The “Write it Down” journal intrigued me because they contain many writing prompts that help get past writer’s block. They also help to jog our memory on the important moments that really matter.

I received the Vacation Journal from Journals Unlimited and as you can see there are so many great questions, moments to ponder and writing prompts that I can easily fill this out with aggravating my hand or stressing my brain trying to remember the various details of our vacation.

I’ve always kept a personal journal to express my thoughts, excitement, and concerns for the moment and it helps me to plan and set goals for the future. Everyone experiences important events worth remembering. Whatever your age or passion, keeping a journal is a great way to capture and recall your thoughts and ideas, while recording all your precious memories.

With just an idea, the company was started in the summer of 1997. I was on vacation on the west coast of Michigan when I walked up into a Barnes & Noble book store. I wanted to pick up a vacation journal and envisioned finding a series of journals with the prompts such as our journals offer (Where I traveled, Where I stayed, People I met, etc.). There was nothing even close, only a wide variety of blank journals. Almost immediately the idea was born! By the end of the day, I had developed several titles as well as the craft color and cover design.

I went to my office the following Monday. At that time I owned and operated a weight-loss franchise in Bay City, Michigan, my hometown. I announced to my store manager that I had come up with a million dollar idea over the weekend, and I was going to put it to work.
