A while back I was invited to review the Karito Kids dolls. I am sure you have seen their bi-weekly posts. If not, feel free to click on the IE Mommy tab at the top of the website and you’ll see a
sub-tab for Karito Kids. You can read all about their great products.
I was allowed to choose the two dolls that I would like to receive for review and I chose the Pita Doll and the Zoe Doll. I chose those two dolls because one is of Hispanic descent, like myself, and the other is Caucasian, like the IE Daddy. I wanted the twins to understand their mixed heritage.
When they arrived…I explained to the twins why the dolls looked like
mommy and daddy and why the dolls were different from each other. Now Pita is from Mexico City and Zoe is from New York. The girls seem to grasp the concept and very happy playing with their dolls.
Fast forward to last week….
We are driving in the car when we see two beautiful dogs walking with their owner at the stop light. One is a purebred German Shepherd and the other is a German Shepherd Mix. Rylan asked what type of dogs they were and I said “A Shepherd and a mix”.
“What is a mix?” Skylar inquired.
“When you have more then one type in you. Like that dog has German Shepherd and another type of dog. A mix is when you have two colors, races or breeds in one” I replied not giving my answer much thought.
Silence in the backseat as they are contemplating what I just told them.
“Oh!” Said Rylan “Just like us. We are a mix. We are half Mexican and half New York!”
I laughed so hard I had to pull over!
