What Does The IE Mommy Think?:

I can not wait to begin using the Elfing Around Elves. I want everyone of my sweet readers to get an Elfing Around Friend. The IE Twins are going to be so excited when they show up transparent_boy(mysteriously) one day.

A few years back…I stayed up late at night putting together “Santa’s” entrance. You know setting the toys up by the fireplace, eating cookies, drinking the milk, etc. Well to make it extra special I put glitter on the floor as if Santa had walked through the house…not realizing it…I stepped in the glitter and left a footprint. When the twins saw it I thought for sure I had been caught and that the “gig” was up. No way…that footprint sealed the deal! They still talk about Santa’s foot print 2 years later!

transparent_girlI was so, so happy to receive an Elfing Around review opportunity. The entire concept behind Elfing Around is imaginations, childhood and memories. Each little Elf Friend comes with a guide book, an envelope addressed to Santa, a blank sheet of Christmas paper to write your letter to Santa, a tattoo for your elf, an intro letter from the “head elf” and a lot of fun!

Growing up…I didn’t have the fantasy of Santa Claus…my parents never wanted us to be disappointed so they just never went that route…but with the twins it as if I am living that childhood experience only this time…I get to use my imagination and really be Santa. Now with my Elfing Around Friends...the entire event is perfect! Can you tell I am excited??

A Little About Elfing Around:

I would love to say that I am so creative that I came up with the idea of magical visiting Christmas elves. Unfortunately, no one can claim that title. In Norway, Denmark, Germany and Iceland this tradition dates back before the birth of Christ. I have based the Elfing Around® elves on this folklore, and then added a few current-day “necessities”.exp

FOLKLORE:

  1. The Elfing Around® elves are based mostly on Norwegian traditions, because that’s my heritage and that’s what I know best. In Norway, elves are called “nisse.” The nisse are possibly the best known creatures in Norwegian folklore. The nisse tend to be shy around humans and only emerge to play harmless tricks on people. “Documentation” shows that the nisse come out for a 12-day period during the Christmas season. The nisse would visit a certain farm during those 12 days (1). “If the nisse was treated kindly by the people on that farm he would remain there for the full 12 days. If the nisse was not treated kindly he would disappear as suddenly as he came.” (2) This is why our adventure was created for the 12 days before Christmas.
